Our approach

Excellence is taught. Not memorized.

A proven method, founders from research and medicine, and a team of 10+ graduate-level teachers.

Why AAD exists

Talented students, taught to memorize.

After more than a decade in classrooms, university courses and research labs, our founders kept seeing bright students who had memorized procedures without ever learning where they come from. When a question changed shape, everything fell apart.

AAD exists to fix that, one student at a time, with the rigour of a research university and the care of a private teacher.

If a student can explain why, they can solve what they've never seen before.

The AAD method

Five steps. One student at a time.

  1. 01

    Consult

    A free 30-minute conversation.

An academic director learns the student's goals, marks and learning style, and gives honest advice on next steps.

    • Goals and timeline agreed
    • Recommended plan and schedule
  2. 02

    Diagnose

    Find the real gaps.

Trouble in calculus is often a gap in functions; trouble in physics is often algebra. We find the root cause first.

    • Baseline across prerequisite skills
    • Clear list of priority gaps
  3. 03

    Design

A plan built for one student.

A written plan aligned to the course outline and test dates, with a teacher matched to the subject and the student.

    • Written, term-long learning plan
    • Teacher matched by subject and style
  4. 04

    Teach

    From first principles.

Intuition first, then formalism, then exam-speed fluency. Students do the thinking; teachers guide it.

    • Live one-on-one, online
    • Practice set between sessions
  5. 05

    Measure

    Progress parents can see.

Notes after every session and a written report every four weeks, so progress is tracked rather than assumed.

    • Session notes after every lesson
    • Progress report every four weeks
